Silver impregnated carbon with bacteriostatic properties, which reduce the risk of bacterial growth within the carbon. This makes this set ideal for situations where still water may be left in contact with the carbon for extended periods (caravans, holiday homes). Please note: Silver carbon reduces risk of bacterial growth within the carbon, but live bacteria can still flow through the filter. If consuming untreated water where you suspect bacteria may be present, then chemical sterilisation or the use of a UV steriliser is recommended.
